Youth Club
Youth Club overview
Our Youth Club supports young people from the local community, many of whom come from BAME backgrounds. A significant number are underperforming in school or college, face economic hardship, and are at risk of engaging in anti-social behaviour or becoming involved with gangs. To address these challenges, we aim to provide a safe, welcoming, and supervised space where they can learn and socialise. We have also identified specific needs among local youth, which we have translated into the Club’s core aims, allowing us to focus our efforts and create a positive impact.
Main Youth Club aims:
Build the confidence of young people.
Develop their skills so they can socialise effectively and work as a team.
Raise awareness about anti-social behaviour and provide positive alternatives to spending time on the streets.
Discourage involvement in gang and territorial cultures.
Improve young people’s health and wellbeing.
How we seek to achieve our aims
We will endeavour to achieve these aims by offering a variety of recreational, cultural, and educational services that promote social participation and community cohesion. We hope to encourage and support young people to become confident and assertive members of society with the relevant social and life skills.
In addition, we provide a safe, friendly, and supervised environment where young people feel comfortable and at ease. To further these aims, we work in partnership with local youth organisations and relevant agencies sharing our vision.
